2015 Season Wrap-Up

Yesterday evening we packed up the last of our CSA boxes thus completing Busy Beaver Farm’s 10 week program. The completion of the CSA program marks the end of our first season as a farm, and by every measure it was a success!

An early September conclusion is indeed early to shut a farm down for the year, but it’s all for good news. This Fall I am beginning my PhD studies in political science at The University of Ottawa researching regimes of land distribution for farming in Canada and how to best achieve long term access to land for young people. This wonderful opportunity means that I cannot extend the CSA program past early September. It also means that I am going to have to sit out the 2016 season to concentrate on my comprehensive examination.

The plan is that Busy Beaver Farm will resume its CSA program for either the 2017 or 2018 season. We will keep you posted.
